It was a Sunday afternoon when Saibal met Supriya for the first time at a restaurant beside the Ganges.
They sat down on a table overlooking the Ganges. They could watch the waves, the Western bank, and a few boats through the large glass window.
The river was flowing gently.
Supriya was bathed in the orangish twilight sun and looked exceedingly beautiful.
Since that day, Saibal and Supriya frequently visited the restaurant, sometimes just to have an ice cream.
Often, they just took a walk along the river.
They loved the ambiance.
The river, whistles of the Circular Railway trains, various shops offering snacks and soft drinks, and the imperial architecture at the Prinsep Ghat — all created a magic that deeply influenced their young minds.
Even then, before they got married, they thought of living in a part of the city close to the river.
They never knew their dreams would come true one day but it did.
(Even fairy tales do come true, sometimes.)
How did that happen?
We will tell you in the next 1 minute.

They Lived in South Kolkata
Saibal and Supriya always lived in South Kolkata.
Their lives revolved around their college (Jadavpur University for Saibal), Gariahat, art galleries, and Ballygunge Lake.
Although they have friends in North Kolkata, they don’t visit them too often.
They were always content with their existence but the river changed it.
The openness, the philosophical thoughts rising in their minds while near the Ganges, the marine life imbibed definite feelings of wellness in them.
Over time, they married and started to live in Saibal’s parent’s home.
It’s a big old house, and Saibal is the only son of his parents.
However, they wanted to buy a weekend home near the Ganges.
A home where they can unwind after a busy working week.
However, they were not able to find any residential project in Kolkata that would fulfill this condition till, Sunetra, Supriya’s close friend told them of an amazing upcoming property along the banks of the Ganges.
It looked like “too good to be true”.
They decided to visit the project site.
However, they thought of not taking their car.
Instead, they agreed to go back in time and relive their younger days.
River Travel on the Ganges
Although The Royal Ganges project site is just a 20-minute drive along the Sampriti flyover from their home at New Alipore, Saibal and Supriya decided to take the ferry to the project site.
The Royal Ganges has its jetty and runs a cruise service to and fro from The Millennium Park jetty on Sundays.
This cruise service will be further expanded to cover all other days of the week.
This is a very important aspect of this project. The air-conditioned luxurious travel will connect the project with the Central Business District.
The travel time is a mere 35 minutes. No other project can connect with CBD in such a short time.
The operation started from The Millennium Park to the project on Sundays with multiple time slots.
So, they started at 3.15 pm on a Sunday afternoon and reached The Royal Ganges at about 3.50 pm.
You can also get aboard the cruise from Millennium Park at 11 am.
You can board the cruise from The Royal Ganges Jetty at 2 pm or 5.30 pm.
Additionally, residents can also have joyrides in specified time slots.
The cruise service can be opted for leisure trips, and future homeowners can rent a launch and enjoy evening parties on the Ganges.
The Riverfront Residential Complex
Saibal and Supriya looked at the project details of the largest riverfront gated community on the Ganges and were truly mesmerized.
Whether enjoying breathtaking views from the balcony or strolls along the riverside dedicated space, they will enjoy connecting with nature.
Living by a river or even a large waterbody has several benefits.
And The Royal Ganges is a huge housing complex spread over 26.53 acre offering unique benefits.
The Royal Ganges is:
- Kolkata’s longest riverfront project
- 100% of units are facing the Ganges
- Project area 26.53 acres, Open space 19.36 acres (73%)
- Just 20 mins. from New Alipore
- The River Club — 70,000 sq. ft. Clubhouse overlooking the Ganges
- Dedicated jetty & fast ferry service
The dreams of Saibal and Supriya will never fizzle out (as happens with real-life dreams with daybreak).
There will always be the openness, the cool breeze, and the spellbinding sunset.
